National Farm Business Management Conference
June 11-15, 2017 ♦ Des Moines, IA

Welcome!

This year's National Farm Business Management Conference takes us to Des Moines, Iowa. Our conference hotel is the Embassy Suites by Hilton- Des Moines Downtown.

The Iowa Farm Business Association is excited to host this conference in 2017. We have been working on the conference details and are thrilled to see all the preparation coming together.

Kent Vickre and his crew in Iowa have fantastic week planned for all of us. There are many things to see and do around the Des Moines area.

Kent also has planned some fun family events so bring the family and make a little vacation out of the week.

Join us to learn the latest and greatest on farm technology, economics, and water management. Here is an overview of items we would like to share with you:

Over the past several years, water quality has been a key issue in Iowa. This issue has gained national attention because the Board of Water Works Trustee for the City of Des Moines (DMWW) filed a controversial lawsuit against the drainage districts in three Northwest Iowa counties. This lawsuit was eventually dismissed for various reasons. See complete details here: www.calt.iastate.edu/blogpost/why-federal-court-dismissed-dmww-lawsuit.

However, this lawsuit has brought an increased attention to this issue, resulting in a lot more research and proactive involvement from various Ag producer groups. We have included several key speakers on this topic. (See the agenda for more details)

The World Food Prize Hall of Laureates building is directly across the river from our hotel, and we are excited to incorporate a tour into the agenda for everyone to visit. Visit www.worldfoodprize.org for more details.
