Our 2016 National Farm Business Management Conference destination is Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This year, our colleagues from the North Central Farm Management Extension Committee (NCFMC) will be joining us for their triennial conference.

Sioux Falls was founded in the mid-19th century by land speculators attracted by the cascades and water power of the Big Sioux River and the area's beauty. During the early part of the 20th century, the city's economy centered on ag-based industries, beginning with the opening of the John Morrell meat packing plant in 1909. Sioux Falls is South Dakota's largest city.

Our conference site, the Holiday Inn Sioux Falls- City Centre, is located a short distance from the Big Sioux River. Numerous shops, restaurants and museums, such as the Old Courthouse and Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science, are within walking distance.

We look forward to seeing you in Sioux Falls!
